A Little more about Helen Russell

I am Sunderland born and bread Photographer even graduating from Sunderland University with a BA (hons) in Photography.  I moved away for a while but I came back to my routes setting up my own studio in the heart of Sunderland’s Historic Quarter, Sunniside.

I am willing to travel to photograph your big day or to a special location of your choice for a family portrait sitting. Recent work has taken me from Scotland and Yorkshire to as far as Italy.

Running my own business means I can let my imagination and creative flair take over offering clients something special ! I love the whole business side too which is a big help as it takes up a lot of my time!

I am obsessed with weddings currently planning my own I could talk about weddings all day! I love what marriage stands for and there is nothing better than to photograph the gift of love.  I  have built some lovely relationships between myself and  brides and I understand how important my role is on their wedding  day, to  to be  a friend  as well as someone who can capture their special day for them! Creating a story they will cherish for the rest of their lives!

I think I am very lucky to have a creative job  being able to  photograph people! Portraits are a piece of art that brings out the personality of the person. Spending the time playing with children brings out the best in them creating beautiful natural shots! You can look back at your photographs in years to come and they will bring back all the happy memories of their childhood.

A qualified member of the Master Photographers Association, I am also an award winner. Having scooped the coveted Newcomer Portrait Photographer of the Year 2010. (MPA North East Region).
